Cylinder Control

 

Purity Cylinder Gases is an independent, locally owned and operated welding supply and gas distributor with 14 locations throughout Michigan and Northern Indiana. Our first location opened in 1938 in the Grand Rapids, MI area.
We are known for providing excellent service, each location is staffed with skilled and experienced personnel who are committed to providing superior quality and customer service.

We are currently looking for a candidate to handle all aspects of Cylinder Control. The Cylinder Control position will handle cylinder control for the company. Which includes, but is not limited to, AR support, AR Customer Service (billing and balance issues), AP transactions from 3rd parties, and help with asset usage for the company. This position will also be responsible for gas and other related reporting.

Duties:

  • Customer Service cylinder control (customer cylinder inventory)
  • AP Cylinder Control (3rd Party)
  • Asset control and utliization (PCG cylinder inventory)
  • Other gas related duties and reporting.

Qualifications:

Able to work as a team player with Management, Supplies, Customers and Coworkers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.

Truck Driver

Founded in 1938, Purity is a family owned and operated welding and industrial gas and supply distributor. We service countless industries across Michigan and Northern Indiana. Our purpose is to enrich our customers, employees, suppliers and owners by providing quality and flexible solutions.

We are currently looking for a Truck Driver at our Kalamazoo Location. The Driver will deliver welding supplies and gases on a daily basis to a local customers (no long distance/over the road or overnights). The ideal Truck Driver must follow our core values: perform their work with Integrity, be customer focused, have a positive attitude, not be complacent and value relationships.

Major Functions

  • Make local deliveries of welding supplies and high pressure cylinders
  • Process billing paperwork accurately and neatly
  • Adhere to DOT rules and company guidelines
  • Help with trailer loading and unloading
  • Attend periodic compliance and safety trainings
  • Meet or exceed productivity goals
  • Accurately account for all cylinders leaving on truck and what is returned

Qualifications Needed

  • Able to work as a team player with your supervisor and fellow employees
  • Able to read and carry out written and oral instructions
  • Able to verify numbers, perform simple math, read and identify labels, etc.
  • Ability to move heavy objects (60 pounds or more)
  • High School or better diploma preferred
  • CDL class A preferred (Must be willing to obtain CDL class A with hazmat endorsement)
  • Ability to work outdoors in all climates and weather conditions

General Laborer – Acetylene Plant

Founded in 1983, Purity is a family owned and operated welding and industrial gas supply distributor. We service countless industries across Michigan and Northern Indiana. Our purpose is to enrich our customers, employees, suppliers, and owners by providing quality and flexible solutions.

We are looking to hire a General Laborer for a position in our Acetylene Plant. We are seeking a candidate who is mechanically inclined to fill this position. This position will process acetylene cylinders through the plant, start, operate, shut down and maintain plant equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Able to work as a team player with all levels of employees.
  • Able to use Microsoft programs or database programs for reporting.
  • Able to understand mechanical equipment and how they function.
  • Ability to move heavy objects (60lbs or so) and move cylinders around the plant.
  • Must posses problem solving and decision making ability.
