General Labor/Cylinder Painter (Part-time) – Grand Rapids

We are looking for a Part-Time Cylinder Painter/General Labor employee. This position is a great opportunity for someone looking for:

  • Great pay – hourly base rate + piece work for how much you do + quarterly bonuses (current average is $15 – $20+ per hour for this position before quarterly bonuses, which add up to an extra $3 – $5 per hour worked paid quarterly)

In this position you will be expected to maintain the appearance of cylinders in the Grand Rapids fill plants. This position may also, back up other positions in the plant as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Painting cylinders.
  • Shot blasting cylinders.
  • Refurbishing liquid cylinder exteriors.
  • Possibly some back up of other plant functions.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be at least 16 years old (preferably 18 years or older, but not required).
  • Communication – able to understand and carry out oral instructions, be able to read and carry out written instructions, able to read and verify things such as numbers and labels.
  • Physical – ability to move heavy objects and cylinders (60+ lbs.).
  • Aptitude – able to work as a team player with your supervisor and fellow employees, take pride in the quality of your work, and good with basic math.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Local Route Driver – Fort Wayne, IN

Local Route Driver – Fort Wayne, IN

We are looking for a responsible Local Route Driver who has a passion for our customers and our products for our Fort Wayne, Indiana location. As a Route Delivery Driver, you are responsible for the handling heavy cylinders and inventory and face-to-face interactions with our customers. Class A CDL and Hazmat not required, but candidates must be willing to obtain with the help of the company.

This position will have a local delivery route and deliver industrial gas cylinders and industrial supplies. The local route will be daytime hours and get you home every night (no overnights).

This position includes a very competitive compensation package that includes a competitive hourly rate, and a quarterly bonus program.  Purity also offers a very competitive above market benefit package that includes health, dental, and vision insurances and a very generous 401(k) program with both a company matching amount and a year-end profit-sharing contribution.

Major Functions

  • Deliver industrial gas cylinders and welding supplies daily to customers.
  • Process billing paperwork in an accurate and neat manner.
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle.
  • Accurately account for all cylinders leaving and what is returned.
  • Attend periodic compliance and safety trainings.
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards

Qualifications needed

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • CDL Class A with Hazmat Endorsement preferred. Willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to move heavy objects (60lbs or more).
  • Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Good driving record with no traffic violations
  • High school degree
