Cryogenic Service Department Manager – Grand Rapids, MI

The Cryogenic Service Department Manager is responsible to lead, manage, and hold accountable the cryogenic service department and team of 4 employees.  This position is also responsible for overseeing bulk cryogenic equipment and piping installations, overseeing equipment and parts inventory and ordering, promoting a safe and collaborative work environment, and other operational and administrative work as needed to support the growth and development of the department and employees.  Successful candidates for this position without cryogenic systems experience often have HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical/maintenance backgrounds.

Major Functions:

  • Oversee the cryogenic service department and its employees.
  • Promote a culture of safety, communication, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate staffing and equipment needs for bulk equipment installations and maintenance.
  • Manage equipment, supplies, and other assets needed for the department.
  • Perform office/administrative duties associated with employee performance/growth, department scheduling, and other administrative functions as needed.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Able to communicate job requirements and scheduling both orally and in writing. Must be able to promote teamwork & motivate in a positive manner by leading meetings effectively & efficiently
  • Capable of working at customer sites and in the office. Able to drive vehicle to and from customers in unpredictable weather, assist with bulk installations and maintenance as needed, able to lift & move heavy objects (60lbs or more), able to work on ladders and high lifts as needed.
  • Able to work as a team player with management and all levels of employees, make decisions that fit with corporate goals, follow through on tasks/projects to completion without reminders, and take pride in work quality.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and able to understand control systems and drawings, mechanical equipment, and how they function.
  • High School education or better preferred.  Prior cryogenic experience highly preferred, but not required.  Basic knowledge of Microsoft programs or database programs for reporting is preferred.

Welding Equipment Service Technician – Grand Rapids, MI

This position is responsible for performing service work on welding equipment owned by the Company and for its customers.  Service work primarily includes performing annual machine calibrations as needed, general maintenance on company owned equipment, diagnosing services problems with broken machines and making the repairs that are needed, ordering parts, and completing paperwork required to bill and provide repair estimates.  The majority of work is done in house at Purity’s location in Grand Rapids with some service needing to be performed at customer locations.  Travel to customers is very limited with little to no overnight travel needed.  This is a full time 40 hour per week position with opportunity for overtime hours as needed based on customer demand.

Major Functions:

  • Perform service work on customer and company owned equipment both in site and at customer locations.
  • Perform annual equipment calibrations as needed.
  • Maintain the Company’s fleet of rental welding equipment.
  • Order Parts from vendors as needed to complete repairs.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for customer billing and repair estimates.
  • Attend trainings and service schools as needed.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Able to understand and carryout written and oral instruction.
  • Able to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, understand schematic drawings, and work with required industry computers/technology to diagnose problems and fix machinery.
  • Comfortable speaking to customers regarding needed service work.
  • Able to work at customer sites and drive the Company’s service vehicle.
  • Able to work well with other technicians, supervisors, company salespersons, and customers.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed based on customer demand.
  • High school degree required, with additional mechanical/electrical training and schooling preferred.
  • Prior electrical, mechanical, and small engine repair experience preferred.

Inside Sales – Grand Rapids, MI

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for processing orders, shipping/receiving, assisting customers in person and on the phone, taking personal care of some key accounts, and supporting our Outside Sales team as needed.

Major Functions:

  • Works closely with and provides support to outside sales team.
  • Perform various customer service activities including processing orders in person and via phone.
  • Perform inventory functions on hard goods and cylinders.
  • Attend product knowledge and sales training (including basic welding classes).

IT Technician – Grand Rapids, MI

We are currently looking for a qualified fulltime IT Technician that will actively participate in the Help Desk as well as install and maintain computer systems and networks.  A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, hardware, and a variety of software.

Major functions:

  • Reply to and resolve help desk requests and questions and then follow-up with users to ensure issues have been resolved.
  • Setup/configure new workstations and make simple repairs on computer equipment and printers.
  • Help troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, printers, & networks.
  • Help write, update, and implement documentation and training.
  • Assist with projects as assigned.

Qualifications needed:

  • Proven experience as an IT Technician or relevant position.
  • Associates Degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A+ or basic Microsoft Certifications is a plus.
  • Previous customer service experience is a plus.
  • PowerApps experience is a plus.

Local Route Driver – Wixom, MI and Warsaw, IN

We are looking for responsible Local Route Drivers who have a passion for our customers and our products. As a Route Delivery Driver, you are responsible for the handling heavy cylinders and inventory and face-to-face interactions with our customers. Class A CDL and Hazmat not required, but candidates must be willing to obtain with the help of the company.

This position will have a local delivery route and deliver industrial gas cylinders and industrial supplies. The local route will be daytime hours and get you home every night (no overnights).

Major Functions:

  • Deliver industrial gas cylinders and welding supplies daily to customers.
  • Process billing paperwork in an accurate and neat manner.
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle.
  • Accurately account for all cylinders leaving and what is returned.
  • Attend periodic compliance and safety trainings.
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards

Qualifications needed:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • CDL Class A with Hazmat Endorsement preferred. Willing to train the right candidate.
  • Willingness to obtain your Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement required.
  • Ability to move heavy objects (60 pounds or more).
  • Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.

Inside Sales / Backup Driver – Wixom, MI, Mount Pleasant, MI and Pierceton, IN

This position will be a combination of inside customer service and local delivery driving. The customer service portion is responsible for processing orders, shipping and receiving, assisting customers in person and on the phone, taking personal care of some key accounts, and supporting the outside sales force as needed. The driving portion includes local deliveries to customers of compressed gas cylinders and welding supplies. The time allocated to customer service and driving will fluctuate based on customer demand.

Major Functions:

  • Works closely with and provides support to outside sales team.
  • Perform various customer service activities including processing orders in person and via phone.
  • Perform inventory functions on hard goods and cylinders.
  • Attend product knowledge and sales training (including basic welding classes).
  • Drive local route truck and deliver products to customers.
  • Load and unload products on and off the truck.
  • Currently have or willingness to obtain a Class A CDL and needed endorsements.
